Time for pie

So, some of you might know I've been obsessed with all things cooking the past 6 months or so. Maybe longer. Before I continue, let me clarify one very important point here. I am not saying I'm any good, or have any amazing recipes or anything like that. Ok, now that that is cleared up I can continue. Anyway, now that I'm actually trying to be a home cook there are a few recipes I feel like it's time I attempt. First one on the list is pie. For a long time I thought I hated pie so as a result I never tried making one. I recently realized I love pie and feel cheated for missing out on so many Thanksgiving desserts. So this week I'm going to attempt my first pie. I'm not going to lie, I'm a little scared. Chuck has been wanting pie to I think. We went to T.J. Maxx recently and he picked out a very cute pie dish. By the way, if y'all aren't looking at T.J.'s for cooking stuff you're missing out. If anyone has an amazing pie recipe for me let me know. Next up, roasts.

I have a good lemon mirangue, pumpkin pecan tart, or fresh peach pie recipe (in the Oakeson family cook book), I made a key lime pie once too, that was pretty good. Anyway you can make any pie, it just depends on what you're having a hankering for. And don't be too scared about making one Eliza, you are a great cook and if you follow the recipe (which I have a hard time doing) you can't mess it up (like me). Roasts are easy too if you need help. Just put one in the crock pot with potatoes and carrots with a packet of lipton onion soup mix, a can of cream of mushroom soup, and a cup (or a can) of water put in on low for 8 hours or on high for 2-3 (before church) and low for 3 more (during church). It turns out sooo yummy. If you ever need help just call, but I think you'll do amazing.

You know, I've never been a pie person. Maybe its cause I've never tried making it. I'm glad to see your blog and I need to get those pictures of Eden from you. I'm not sure how well they turned out in the end, but I hope they did cause the kids were so cute and funny with those tools!
